When protesters began gathering in Egypt’s Tahrir Square in January of 2011, demanding that Hosni Mubarak step down, no one could have predicted the chain reaction throughout the Middle East. Of course, the implications were significant, the citizens of this North African country, and long time United States ally, had seen the success in Tunisia, and grown tired of conditions brought on by the thirty year rule of President Mubarak.
